Add customers and suppliers
Create a contact, set their pricing, payment terms and tax, and add their addresses.
Customers and suppliers are kept in one Contacts list. Use the All, Customers and Suppliers tabs to switch between them.
Go to Contacts and click Add Contact.
Enter the Contact Name. Choose whether this is a customer or a supplier. Add their email, phone, website and NZBN or ABN if you have them.
Good to know: each email address can only belong to one contact. If you see This email is already used by…, the contact already exists.
Choose the contact's currency, price level, payment terms and tax rate. These fill in for you when you create an order for them. For customers you can also set a credit limit.
Enter the Billing Address. Tick Shipping address same as billing, or enter a different shipping address. To add more, click Additional Addresses → Add Address.
Click Add Contact (or Save Changes when editing).
Starting values for new contacts
An administrator can set the defaults for every new contact in Settings → Contacts → Default Contact Settings: tax rate, currency, location, payment terms and price tier.
Make a contact inactive
To stop using a contact but keep its history, select it and choose Set Inactive. Tick Show inactive to see it again, and choose Set Active to bring it back.
